Summary:
The Quality Inspector II advocates for confirming that company products meet customer requirements and
specifications using inspection techniques and collaborative continuous improvement efforts aligned with the
production departments. This includes proficiently using precision measurement/test equipment, process, and
procedural control, and non-conformance data recording/tracking/analysis/mitigation.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities: to include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform regular material and part evaluations; record inspection results for in-process inspection, receiving
inspection and final inspection.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications through First Piece Inspection, conducting visual
and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor.
  • Review of drawings and details for accurate documentation of specifications.
  • Create and perform First Articles Reports per AS9102C
  • Support the culture of continuous improvement and personal accountability within the production

departments, focusing on eliminating NCRs and Scrap.

  • Create, investigate, and document non-conformances and corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead, plan, and assign tasks to the inspectors’ team in alignment with production priorities and schedule.
  • Support other quality department tasks, including but not limited to audits, document control, training,
validations, Gage R&R, and calibration.

Required Skills / Experience / Education:
Required

  • 3-5 years of hands-on inspection experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
  • Proficient in using most metrology hand tools.
  • Proficient in creating and running CMM Programs (ZEISS CALYPSO)
  • GD&T Proficient (reading & interpreting engineering prints)
  • Experience in AS9102 First Article Inspection Report.
  • Excellent technical communication and writing skills.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience in plastics manufacturing processes, including extrusion, injection molding, and/or precision
machining.
  • ASQ Certifications or similar

Physical Demands: (as applicable)
Working with various sizes and shapes of products daily, the majority being under 5 pounds. Will require regularly
standing at long intervals and lifting/moving product throughout the day. Daily report writing at a computer
terminal is also needed.

Work Environment / Schedule: (as applicable)
Primary shop or lab-type environment working with product, hand tools, shop equipment, and report writing daily.
The base schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 5:30. The Inspector reports to the Quality Inspector Lead.
